The way we see it, we all have different types of exes. There's the Meh Guy, a.k.a the one you hooked up with
a few times a while back, but you both knew it wasn't going anywhere.
If a friend wants to date him, go for it—that relationship was so not
relevant it's almost like it didn't even happen.
Of course, we all have The Campus Ex, but this one is split into two
categories: Your steady hookup (again, go for it) and The One You
Seriously Thought You'd End Up Marrying (Even Though You Were 19).
Eh...I could be convinced, but a discussion needs to be had first. After
all, you guys discussed feelings probably over many a six-pack of Tusker and that's a bond that runs pretty damn deep.
And finally, there's The Guy You Really Thought You'd Marry (Really).
You know the one—you spent holidays together, created a zillion
memories together, and maybe even lived together. Not to mention had loads of sex along the way. You still think about him from time to time because, hello
he's THE significant ex, and if you weren't currently in a
relationship/engaged//married, you'd be open to trying again with him.
Even if the breakup was your decision, it's still hard to let this guy
go.
But, if we're being totally honest here...it's just not cool.
